For BC High’s Illuminating Excellence campaign kickoff, our live production team was tasked with creating a stunning finale to leave donors inspired and energized. This culminated in a dramatic lighting display that illuminated the school’s main building on cue with a film playing at the event across the street, symbolizing the campaign’s vision of excellence and growth. Through careful planning, cutting-edge equipment, and flawless execution, we transformed the campaign’s theme into a breathtaking live moment.
The event’s key goal was to create a memorable and symbolic moment to capstone the campaign kickoff. Our role was to:
1. Equipment and Setup:
To achieve the brilliance and precision required for the display, we deployed six 1200-watt LED lighting fixtures, each carefully positioned to evenly illuminate the building’s facade. These were powered by two primary generators, with additional backup generators on hand to ensure uninterrupted performance. The equipment was tested and calibrated for maximum visual impact, with attention to the school’s architectural details.
2. Real-Time Monitoring:
To synchronize the lighting with the event taking place across the street, we utilized Teradek wireless video technology, providing our team with a live feed of the event space. This allowed us to coordinate precisely with the film, ensuring the lighting display activated at the exact right moment.
3. Execution:
As the president gestured toward the building, our team flawlessly activated the lighting display. The facade of BC High’s main building was instantly illuminated in a stunning wash of light, symbolizing the campaign’s theme, “Illuminating Excellence.” The seamless integration of technical expertise and creative vision ensured the moment was as awe-inspiring as it was meaningful.
